I haven't had much time to blog or take pictures recently so these are some photos that I have been meaning to post but haven't gotten around to. They are from about two weeks ago. I decided to go out and do some photography before heading off to work. I apologize for the poor lighting and what not. However, GOOD NEWS! For Christmas I received a new DSLR from Santa. Hopefully, having a higher quality camera will enhance my blog even more. I can't wait to go out today and play around with it. I may or may not do a Christmas/Chicago haul. We'll see where life takes us.

The Most Beautiful Music in the World

I find often times, what music you listen to says a lot about your character. What the music I listen to says about me, I'm not quite sure. But, I do know that every song listed here is absolutely stunning and should be given the chance of becoming one of your favorite songs as well. If you are to choose which music video to watch, may I direct you to "Ride" by Lana Del Rey. It is not as much of a music video as it is an artistic compilation of cinematography and poetic words, then followed by the actual song. It really is an experience in itself and it's one that I keep going back to.
Also, I have been absolutely obsessed with Nick Drake. Although he has passed, I think his music has a beauty that transcends time. Literally my favorite 1970s folk artist (next to Vashti Bunyan). If you like Nick Drake, I suggest you listen to his song "Pink Moon" because that is also one of my favorites.

If you have any favorite artists or songs that are similar to these, feel free to let me know! I'm constantly on the hunt for new music.

Outfit of the Day: Faux Fur and Coral

Good Evening! Winter is quickly approaching and I really am dreading the arrival of the first snowfall. Although I do not hate snow, it is quite a nuisance when I love to take pictures down by the river.

This was my outfit from Sunday. It was such a lovely day and I really could not pass up the opportunity to go take some photos. You can't see her, but my puppy, Coco, accompanied me and was sitting behind the camera. She loves rolling in the leaves. :)

Upon taking pictures, I went to a coffee shop downtown with some very good friends to work on a school project. Although I am not much of a coffee drinker, I did manage to spoil myself with a couple cups of hot chocolate and a really delicious sandwich.
I don't know about everyone else, but I am extremely excited about Black Friday. I haven't shopped in a few weeks for preparation. I plan on going out at midnight. So excited! Hopefully, I will be able to get all of my Christmas shopping completed, so in December I won't have to frantically hunt down gifts.

I will most likely be posting a haul post after black Friday, so stay tuned! Typing "stay tuned" reminded me of playing "Nancy Drew: Stay Tuned for Danger"...anyone else obsess over Nancy Drew games? No? No one? Okay.

P.S. If I don't upload a post before, I hope everyone has a spectacular Thanksgiving!

Some Blog Changes

As you may have noticed, there is now an Instagram tab added to the top of my blog! Now, all of my photos taken on Instagram will all appear under this tab, so even when I do not upload a blog post there will always be new pictures being added!

I believe that by adding this tab, you will get a more accurate view into my everyday life! I do use my Instagram as somewhat of a fashion diary, along with nature photography and little snippets of my everyday life.

Here are some of the photos I took for a recent Photography project!
If you guys would like me to also connect my twitter so that my tweets are also sent to my blog, let me know! And don't forget to check back often to see what's going on in my everyday life!

If you have an Instagram, Follow me!!

Outfit of the Day: Leopard and Levitation

I could not have asked for a better day to go out and explore nature as well as take some pictures. The sun hung perfectly in the sky and peeped through the branches at just the right angle. Today, I decided to try out some other wooded areas near me for photography and I was pleasantly surprised. It's funny how enthusiastic I get over finding a nice fallen tree or a lovely pile of leaves.

I accidentally made the mistake of sitting on a wood rail while it was wet. Oh well, nothing a washing machine can't fix. Today, I was supposed to go to a craft fair, however my day didn't turn out as planned, so instead I took advantage of the weather.

I find it so easy to become engulfed by the beauty of nature. Especially during the fall season. I'm a sucker for the smell and sound of dead, crinkling leaves. It's so therapeutic. Unfortunately, I am not able to spend my whole weekend out gallivanting due to the fact that I have multiple projects that need to get done today as well as having to work.

Right now, as I am putting this blog post together, I am listening to Patrick Watson. Lately, he has been the only artist I'll listen to. His music is very folksy indie-rock. It's such easy music to mellow out to and just relax. I strongly suggest you check him out if you listen to artists such as Bon Iver or City and Colour.

P.S. I dabble in levitation. Cool right?

Outfit of the Day: Burgundy Cords and Scarf Print

I absolutely love everything about fall. The colors, the smell, the fashion. Everything. It's a shame that it comes and goes so quickly. If I could just bask in its beauty forever, I would.

In this outfit of the day, I was down by the river taking photos for my media design class and thought to myself "Hey, what a perfect blogging opportunity" so here I am! Although the air was crisp and it was drizzling nearly the whole time, my surroundings were still awe-inspiring. As Regina Spektor says, "Leaves become most beautiful when they're about to die".

I have found myself constantly grabbing for my new pair of burgundy cords I recently purchased. The color is just so saturated and the fabric, so comfy. Hopefully, you find time to go embrace the fall colors before they are all completely gone.
What I'm wearing:
Blouse- Tj Maxx
Burgundy Cords- Tj Maxx
Wedges- Target
Skinny Belt- Target
Skull necklace- Kohls
Gold bracelet- Vintage

Outfit of the Day/ Faceless Photography

I'm back! My sincerest apologies for being gone the past month! My life has been somewhat hectic. Balancing school, work, college applications and a blog can sometimes be a bit overwhelming. I plan on  getting back on a regular schedule of postings, so don't forget to keep checking back!

These photos were taken a week or so back for my photography class. Our assignment was to take "Faceless Portraits", which is why you may notice my face does not appear in any of these photos.

For the majority of these photos I went down by the river near my house. The day was absolutely perfect for photography. The leaves were just beginning to fall and the beauty of the scenery was humbling.
The book I am using in these photos was a book I purchased earlier that day at a local thrift store. I was originally drawn to it for its vintage charm and title. It is actually a children's prayer book. The record I have in the last photo was also purchased from the same store.

What I'm Wearing:
Mustard Sweater-Roxy
Leather Shorts- Kohls
Lace Tights- Forever 21
Teal Loafers- Target
Watch- Relic
Rings- Gift and New York
