Outfit of the Day: Leopard and Levitation

I could not have asked for a better day to go out and explore nature as well as take some pictures. The sun hung perfectly in the sky and peeped through the branches at just the right angle. Today, I decided to try out some other wooded areas near me for photography and I was pleasantly surprised. It's funny how enthusiastic I get over finding a nice fallen tree or a lovely pile of leaves.

I accidentally made the mistake of sitting on a wood rail while it was wet. Oh well, nothing a washing machine can't fix. Today, I was supposed to go to a craft fair, however my day didn't turn out as planned, so instead I took advantage of the weather.

I find it so easy to become engulfed by the beauty of nature. Especially during the fall season. I'm a sucker for the smell and sound of dead, crinkling leaves. It's so therapeutic. Unfortunately, I am not able to spend my whole weekend out gallivanting due to the fact that I have multiple projects that need to get done today as well as having to work.

Right now, as I am putting this blog post together, I am listening to Patrick Watson. Lately, he has been the only artist I'll listen to. His music is very folksy indie-rock. It's such easy music to mellow out to and just relax. I strongly suggest you check him out if you listen to artists such as Bon Iver or City and Colour.

P.S. I dabble in levitation. Cool right?

Outfit of the Day: Burgundy Cords and Scarf Print

I absolutely love everything about fall. The colors, the smell, the fashion. Everything. It's a shame that it comes and goes so quickly. If I could just bask in its beauty forever, I would.

In this outfit of the day, I was down by the river taking photos for my media design class and thought to myself "Hey, what a perfect blogging opportunity" so here I am! Although the air was crisp and it was drizzling nearly the whole time, my surroundings were still awe-inspiring. As Regina Spektor says, "Leaves become most beautiful when they're about to die".

I have found myself constantly grabbing for my new pair of burgundy cords I recently purchased. The color is just so saturated and the fabric, so comfy. Hopefully, you find time to go embrace the fall colors before they are all completely gone.

Outfit of the Day/ Faceless Photography

I'm back! My sincerest apologies for being gone the past month! My life has been somewhat hectic. Balancing school, work, college applications and a blog can sometimes be a bit overwhelming. I plan on  getting back on a regular schedule of postings, so don't forget to keep checking back!

These photos were taken a week or so back for my photography class. Our assignment was to take "Faceless Portraits", which is why you may notice my face does not appear in any of these photos.

For the majority of these photos I went down by the river near my house. The day was absolutely perfect for photography. The leaves were just beginning to fall and the beauty of the scenery was humbling.
The book I am using in these photos was a book I purchased earlier that day at a local thrift store. I was originally drawn to it for its vintage charm and title. It is actually a children's prayer book. The record I have in the last photo was also purchased from the same store.

What I'm Wearing:
Mustard Sweater-Roxy
Leather Shorts- Kohls
Lace Tights- Forever 21
Teal Loafers- Target
Watch- Relic
Rings- Gift and New York

Labor Day Weekend Haul: All for $50!

Yay for hauls and sales! This weekend I literally got the greatest deals ever! At Target while i was checking out a lady gave me a $10 dollar gift certificate. :) Then, while I was checking out at Gap, a 20-something dollar coat rang up for $8! I just had so much good luck over the past weekend. Target had a bunch of their shoes marked down to $10 and The Gap had and extra 50% on their sale racks which brought just about everything on the racks down under $10!
From Target I bought the boots and loafers. I've had my eyes on both for quite some time, so when I saw they were both on sale and only had one pair in my size I snatched them up.
At The Gap I bought the "utility" jacket (which will be perfect for fall and is very versatile), a pair of extremely well fitting khakis (they do have a bit of a blush pink tone), and lastly a short sleeve denim shirt. The denim shirt is absolutely perfect! I will most likely incorporate all of this stuff into my first day of school outfit. If you plan on going out to more sales today, Happy Shopping!

Also, quick announcement. Due to the fact that I start school tomorrow I will not be able to post quite as often as I did in the summer. Not to worry though, I will try my hardest to get a minimum of 2 posts up a week!

Cute DIY Pencil Bags!

As much as I hate to admit it, my senior year is quickly approaching. Every year I like to add a little bit of customization to my school supplies, because where is the fun in having the same things as everyone else?! I made my own pencil bag(s) this year (as I do every year). If you want I can do an actual tutorial on how to make them. I mean, all you really need to know how to do is sew in a straight like and put in a zipper. The tribal print one started as just plain black fabric. I added multiple trims that continue to the other side to add the tribal feel and the inside is a blue tie-dye. The floral one has a cute green zipper and coral tie-dye on the inside. :) Although, I'm not looking forward to the school year, I can still look forward to using these cute little bags!

Outfit of the Day: Party Animal

I apologize for my lack of posts the last few days! I have been touring colleges and what-not and have had hardly anytime to sit down and blog. But, I'm back! This was my outfit from yesterday (Saturday). I ran a few errands and then went to a party at night. Woot! Woot! I have finally perfected the top knot.
